The Team
Bob Torson, Founder and Principal Architect, began his practice in the basement of his home in 1986. His early work was mainly small personal projects. As the practice continued to emerge, Bob’s personality and interests steered the practice towards residential work; projects that required thoughtful and personal solutions. His reputation lies in designing exquisite, original architectural solutions for clients that want something special and individualized. His practice has thrived because very few architects do this well. Bob’s intimate involvement in every project is why our practice has stayed small, personal and successful. We provide a high level of service and excel at designing and executing projects of any scale.
Nate Owens, Senior Associate, has worked for RTA since 2003. He received his Master’s of Architecture in 2004 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Prior to his career in architecture, Nathan was an apprentice for his father in the construction industry, building and remodeling houses. He has always had a passion for residential architecture, which is shown in the quality and attention to detail in every project he is involved with.

Michaela Smith, Intern, joined RTA in 2021. She currently has accomplished her Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
